This is a picture composed of originally three separate ones. I fused them by using Photoshop.
I shows Silnar, Réthiel, and their son Belthil. I named it "Ein Teil davon" (see title for the English translation) which is meant as an allusion to the special situation of the family in the fanfiction wrote:
Silnar and Réthiel had been a couple for many years until their son was born. Yet, Silnar wouldn't want to accept a marriage. He is much more interested in an "open" relationship and is not in favor of fidelity. His (at least) fiancée accepts this but with ever growing anger and pain. Even after the birth of their son Silnar would not marry her and is totally unaware of the complicated situation Réthiel is facing at court: who is she? And what is her son's status? Finally their relationship breaks, they start living separated and hating each other. Réthiel then sends their son to his father. Belthil looks so much like his father that she cannot bare his presence any longer. Silnar, however, cannot really handle the presence of his son. His spirit is restless, his mind and his thoughts are moving very quickly from one issue to the next. He indulges his son while actually not really caring for his problems. So Belthil is finally a bit spoiled. He'll be an arrogant and fierce person (like his father). He suffers from his parents' separation and fight and he will finally blame his father (when Silnar is judged to be executed Belthil will not stand by his side but call him a traitor and a weak person). And his mother and his father will fight each other so that one gets more of their son's love than the other. So Silnar, Réthiel, and Belthil are a "family". But Belthil's constant question when being confronted with his parents' behavior is: "Do I have a family? And am I really part of it?"
