She reigns over Hel and Niflhel, the realm of the dead, she surrounded by shadows and her power is huge, her will unbreakeable. She's a mighty goddess and even gods can't escape from death if they don't pay attention.
famous story:
Baldr, God of Light, Joy and Youth is killed and though the other gods try everything to set him free he is forced to remain in the territories of shadow. Hel will never let those go who once came into her kingdom, death is eternal and no one who is dead and bound to the will of Hel will ever make to escape without her agreement.
